In February I had an ad on
www.curvydates.com, and was scanning the feature they have that allows you
to see the ads of people who are online/connected to the site at that moment
in real time. I noticed one ad in particular because of its headline, which
was "More of a Shrek than a prince." The reason I noticed it was that my own
ad's headline was "Fiona-type seeking her Shrek." Although he was in Colorado
and I was in California, I clicked the "I'm interested" button, thinking
that I'd never hear from someone so far away. The next day there was an
email from him waiting for me, which escalated to daily email correspondence
and then phone calls. A month after we first exchanged emails, he sent me a
ticket to fly to CO to meet. It was supposed to be a brief meeting, nothing
too serious, but he ended up flying back home to CA with me when I left
three days later. When they met, my ten-year-old son fell for him, too. A
week after we arrived in CA, he proposed. We haven't set a definite date
yet, but the wedding will likely take place in the fall.
And they lived happily ever after. :)
