UPDATE!!!
I know it's been quite some time since I sent you our success story
(Dave and Lisa in Oklahoma City) and I wanted to pass along a quick update. On March 26th, just 7 weeks ago, David and I were married in Cypress Gardens, Florida. We happily survived the drive from Oklahoma to Florida, and back, and everyone tells us that means we can last through anything. We both agree completely, but then we've known we were supposed to be together since that very first meeting. Thanks again for bringing us together. You've changed our lives in more ways than we can ever describe.
Just before Labor Day 1997, I found BBW City and spent some time exploring the site. The night I submitted my ad I decided to go ahead and look at the ads for Admirers in Oklahoma. There weren't many, but one of the ads, Dave's, really struck a chord. Since I'd already taken the plunge by submitting my first personal ad, I decided to go ahead and send someone my first response. Unfortunately, the e-mail address wasn't valid any longer. I can't tell you how disappointed I was. Every few weeks I'd try again, but with no success.
Jump ahead almost 5 months and when I pulled up my e-mail I found a message from someone I didn't recognize. It was a response to my ad, and at the end it said that if I was interested I should check out his ad under Oklahoma Admirers. His name was Dave. I almost screamed when I realized that he'd finally found me! I fired off a response, which he answered within 15 minutes. He admitted that he'd been looking at my ad for some time, trying to get up the courage to contact me, but just couldn't get over the impression he got from my ad. We talked online for an hour, then on the phone for several more. The next night we met for dinner and we both seemed to know before the night was over that we'd found what we were looking for.
Within a couple of days of that first meeting I managed to come down with a nasty cold, and naturally we had a date the next morning. I tried to get him to go home, since I was worried that he might catch it too, but he refused to leave me. Dave stayed with me all day, fixing my hot tea, making sure I ate something and took my medicine, and he didn't seem at all horrified at how I looked or acted. I have to admit, the way he treated me and took care of me was all I needed to realize that I'd finally found my "other half." Before the end of the first week we'd both admitted that we loved each other. Needless to say, we've been inseparable ever since. Dave moved in last week, and it's difficult for either of us to remember what our lives were like before we met. We plan to make this "legal" in a year or so, and we owe it all to you. Thanks Lorrie, for helping each of us find our soul-mate.
