Hi there, I thought I'd let you all know that Jam and Brat are doing just fine. We're both working hard to pay our bills and get to a place where we can afford the kind of wedding we both want...which is still going to take a while! We love each other very, very much. That still doesn't mean we're without the bickering and little tiffs, but I think it's natural...life can get stressful. At the end of the day our love is rich and strong. Our story continues to be a success. We will be celebrating Brian's birthday tomorrow night, and as long as I keep the computer books coming his way and he keeps the jewels coming mine, LOL we'll be juuuust fine! I'm only kidding :)...but Brian is very good to me, and I'll be the first to say that I'm not always deserving of it. I'm really very lucky and he means more to me every day. Happy Holidays to you all, we hope 2002 brings you much joy and peace. God Bless our nation.

Well Brian (Brat) and I (Jam) first started getting to know each other in the beginning of July in 1998. I thought he was intellectual, corny like me =) and interesting. He was also a bit flirty so I decided to approach him just for fun. I PM'd him with some corny opening and we just started talking and getting to know all about each other. Within two weeks, Brian knew about me and all my true inner feelings about my life and childhood, hurts, fears; everything. He knew more about me in two weeks than people I've known my whole life. He is just so easy to talk to and he's so loving and caring. He made me feel that I truly mattered. The best thing is that he inquired about me and asked me questions like what do I feel passionate about etc... so I didn't feel like I was just bending his ear, I sensed that he truly wanted to know who I am. He opened up to me and shared himself as well...childhood, fears, things that matter to him. I knew I loved him then, I knew we belonged together no matter what it took by the second week. Him being in NY and me in Oregon it was gonna take a while. It was a torcherous time, we had phone conversations that were 6 and 9 hours! Yikes!!! We both saved our penny's for six months and he came to meet me December 23, 1998. He was supposed to leave a couple weeks later, but when the time came, we knew we could not bare to be apart. Brian went to New York for 4 days to pack up some clothes and say goodbye to his family and friends and came back to Oregon to live! I never thought I would meet someone who loved me enough to make that kind of sacrifice for me. That was just the beginning of his show of affection for me. Brian is such a gentleman, he proves that chivalry is not dead. He treats me very well. He takes my hand in every situation, whether we're on the subway, in a restaurant, or just walking down the street; we are always hand in hand. This may seem a small gesture to some, but it makes me feel truly cherished. This is just a small sampling of our love and why we can be considered a success story. This is not to say we don't have hard times and communication breakdowns, we do; all couples do. We just happen to love each other enough to get through it. Brian and I were officially engaged on June 17, 1999. Brian makes me feel complete I can't wait to marry him. Babe, you rock my world! I love you so much. Jim, Lorrie thanks so much for starting the site. we found lifetime companion's in each other because of the park. I have also developed personal strength and self-esteem through the support of the dwellers, my friends. BBWCity is home. Thank you.
