I didn't expect much when I placed my ad here about a year ago. Although I have enjoyed the site and read some of the success, I truly believed that love online was a myth.

A few weeks after my ad hit. I received a lot replies. Some where nice, some were sweet, some where from those who were not in the same geographical area, and a few were from the trolls who seem to think that because we are fat girls, we are somehow desperate. Those of course got deleted. Then I received a reply from a man who lived about 25 miles from me.

At first I didn't believe we would have a lot in common. He is a country boy and I am a city girl. He is southern to the bone, and I am one of those dreaded Yankees (you will only get that if you live in the south. He is white and I am black. Yet despite all of our differences, we found that we had alot in common and genuinely enjoyed one another. We shared pictures and emails for a while and then he found me online using AOL instant messagenger. We quickly moved into the talking stage. From the beginning we could talk for hours. He is so witty and smart. We completely blew away whatever preconceived notions we have about people from such different backgrounds. It seemed like we shared alot of the same values and goals. Our 1st meeting was a comedy of errors but it was obvious from the first time we laid eyes on each other that there was magic between the 2 of us. The 1st time he kissed me he asked permission. I had not had anyone ask me if they could kiss me since high school. I was touched. T

We had been dating off and on for the past year. Recently, I had been thinking about returning to my home in New England and had communicated that to him. He was supportive of my needs but expressed that he did not want me to leave him. I knew that I was in love with him but was unsure of his feeling for me.

Everything changed when he finally told me that he loved me. He always had but did not want to express that until he knew that he could offer me what he felt I deserved. Last Saturday night we ended up talking all night. Sunday afternoon he asked me to marry him. I of course said YES. We are going to be married on December 30th 2000, in a beautiful chapel in the Smokie Mountains of Tennessee.

We just wanted to say Thank You, for this wonderful sight. It allowed us to find each other despite our differences. We have found what so few people are able to have. Unconditional love. Each time I look into his beautiful blue eyes, I am reminded that I am beautiful, special, incredibly sexy and so very loved. It is amazing to have a man who adores every inch of my body. He thinks I am the most beautiful woman in the world whether I am in a mini skirt and high heels or a big tshirt and sweat socks. He celebrates my feminity and adores my brain. For the 1st time in my life, I don't have to dumb down to be with a man. We challenge each other and have differences of opinions and it does not mean that we don't love each other.
