Toad in the Hole

Ingredients:
150 g (5 oz) Bisquick
250 ml (8 fl oz) milk
2 medium eggs
1 tsp of mixed herbs
500 g sausage links
approx. 30 g (2 tbsp) Lard
Preheat oven to 425F (220C) Gas mark 7. Mix all ingredients except lard using wire whisk until blended. Place the Lard in a 28x21x3.8 cm (11"x8"x1.5") rectangular tin (cake pan). Heat tin in oven until lard is hot (smoking). Pour batter into tin; arrange sausage links over batter. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown and sausages are cooked. Served as a main dish, with mashed potatoes or really good with brown gravy.
